No. 56001/11/2152
20 September B.E. 2544 (2001)

Dear Mayor Giuliani,

On behalf of the Royal Thai Embassy, Washington D.C., I would like to express our heartfelt condolences to you and, through you, to the people of New York City for the tragic loss of life and property as a result of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on 11 September 2001.  In these moments of sorrow, I wish to thank you for your exceptional and inspiring role in leading New York City in heroic and tireless efforts to rescue the injured and search for missing people, among whom are also Thai citizens.

Once again, this is a time for the Thai people to demonstrate their solidarity with the American people.  Thai communities throughout the United States of America, in particular those in New York City, together with the Royal Thai Consulate General at New York, have joined relevant rescue organizations by contributing labour, food, cash and kind to the ongoing rescue operations.  Collective efforts being undertaken will surely help restore the spirit of New York City.  As the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the United States, my staff and I at the Royal Thai Embassy and the three Consulates General at New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, stand ready to render all possible support to you and your entire team during these difficult times.

I wish you every success in your endeavors for the great city of New York.

Yours sincerely,

Tej Bunnag

(Tej Bunnag)
Ambassador

The Honorable
      Mr. Rudolph W. Giuliani,
            Mayor, New York City,
                 NEW YORK.
