Non-Immigrant Visa
Purpose of Visit:-
This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom for the
following purposes:
- To perform official duties: (Category
“F”)
- To conduct business / to work:
(Category
“B”)
- To study, to come on a work study tour or
observation tour, to participate in projects or seminar, to attend a conference
or training course, to study as a foreign Buddhist monk:
(Category
“ED”)
- To work as a film-producer, journalist or
reporter: (Category
“M”)
- To perform missionary work or other religious
activities with the concurrence of the Thai Ministries or Government Departments
concerned: (Category
“R”)
- To conduct scientific research or training
or teaching in research institute: (Category
“RS”)
- Other activities:
(Category “O”)
as
follows: To stay with the family,
perform duties for the state enterprise or social
welfare organizations, to receive medical treatment, to be a sport coach as required by Thai Government,
to be a contestant or witness for the judicial process.
- To stay after retirement for a person who
over 50 years old or older: (Category
“O-A”)
Documents Required:-
- Your actual Passport or Travel Document.
(Passport or Travel Document must not expire within 6 months and contain at least ONE completely empty visa page).
- One visa application form completely filled
out

- Two passport-size photographs (2"x2") (photocopy
or photo taken from Photostat will not be accepted). Photographs must have a light
color background with a full- face view of the person without wearing a hat or dark
glasses. Photos must be taken within 6 months.
- A copy of recent bank statement or evidence
of adequate finance
($500 per person and $1,000 per family)
- For non-US citizen, a copy of permanent resident
alien card with employment verification or a copy of valid US visa with employment
verification letter
- For self-employed, business license or business
registration indicating the applicant’s name.

Consular officers reserve the right to request
additional documents as deemed necessary and also reserve the right

· Letter of invitation
on official letterhead stating the objective of the visit
<Non-Immigrant Visa Category “B” (Business)>
(1) Foreigners who wish to work in Thailand
must provide the following documents: (single entry only)
· Letter of approval from the
Ministry of Labour. To obtain this letter, the applicant’s prospective employer
in Thailand
is required to submit Form WP3 at the Office of Foreign Workers Administration,
Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour Tel. 02-245-2745, or at the Provincial
Employment Office in his or her respective province. More information is available

· A copy of Work Permit
issued by the Ministry of Labour and alien income tax or Por Ngor Dor 91 (only in
the case where applicant has previously worked in Thailand)
· Corporate documents of associated partners/companies
in Thailand such as:
1) Business registration and business license
2) List of shareholders
3) Company profile
4) Details of business operation
5) List of foreign workers stating names, nationalities
and positions
6) Map indicating location of the company
7) Balance sheet, statement of Income Tax and
Business Tax

· An alien who receives
a Non-Immigrant visa can work in Thailand
once he or she is being granted a work permit. An alien in violation of the Immigration
Act B.E. 2522 (1979) concerning taking up employment without work permit or the
Royal Decree B.E. 2522 (1979) concerning holding employment in certain restricted
occupations and professions shall be prosecuted and imprisoned or fined, or shall
face both penalties
(2) Foreigners who wish to conduct business
in Thailand must provide the following documents:-
· Letter from applicant’s company indicating
the applicant’s position, length of employment, salary and purpose of visit(s) to
Thailand
· Letter of invitation
from trading or associated partners/ companies in Thailand · Corporate documents of associated partners/companies
in Thailand such as:
1) Business registration or business license
2) List of shareholders
3) Company profile
4) Details of business operation
5) Map indicating location of the company
6) List of foreign workers
7) Balance sheet, statement of Income Tax and
Business Tax

(3) Foreigners
who wish to work as teacher in Thailand must provide the following documents:(Single entry only)
· Letter of acceptance
from employing institute school in Thailand
· Evidence of educational
qualification such as diplomas or teaching certification
· School license or business registration, list of shareholders and school profile
· Applicant’s resume
· Police certificate
verifying that applicant has no criminal record or equivalents or letter issued
by authorized agencies in applicant’s country

Visa Category “ED”>
(1) Foreigners who wish to study in
Thailand must provide the following documents:
· Letter of acceptance
from the concerned schools/ universities or institutes
· School license or business registration, list of shareholders and school profile
(2)
Foreigners who wish to participate in projects or seminar, to attend a conference
or training course in Thailand must provide the following documents:
· Letter from applicant’s company indicating the applicant’s
position, length of employment, salary and purpose of visit(s) to Thailand
· Letter of invitation or acceptance from the concerned companies/ organizations
or institutes with business registration or business license

<Non-Immigrant Visa Category “O”>
(1) Foreigners who wish to stay with family in Thailand must
provide the following documents:
· If you are a former
Thai citizen, proof of Thai citizen such as Thai passport, Thai identification card,
Thai house register or Thai birth certificate
· If you want to visit
as a spouse or family member (son or daughter), proof of relationship such as a
copy of marriage license or birth certificate with a proof that your spouse or family
member is a Thai citizen

Foreigners who wish for volunteering work with the state enterprises or social welfare
organizations in Thailand must provide
the following documents: (single entry only)
· Letter of invitation or acceptance from the concerned
companies/ organizations or institutes with business registration or business license
(3)
Foreigners who wish to be a sport coach as required by Thai Government, to be a
contestant or witness for the judicial process in Thailand must
provide the following documents:
· Letter of invitation
or acceptance from the Thai Government or concern organizations Visa
Processing Fees:-

If application is submitted in person, visa processing fees are payable
in cash or money order made payable to Royal Thai Embassy. If application is submitted
by mail, please pay by money order only.
Validity of a visa:-
single entry
: Validity of a visa is 3 months.
multiple entries :
Validity of a visa is 1 year.
Period of stay:-
Travelers with this type of visa will be permitted to stay in
Thailand
for a period of not exceeding 90 days.
Extension of stay:-
Those who wish to stay longer or may wish to change their type of visa must file
an application for permission at the Office of Immigration Bureau located on Soi
Suan Plu, off South Sathorn Road, Bangkok 10120, Tel (662) 287-3101
to 10 or at http://www.immigration.go.th
The extension
of stay as well as the change of certain type of visa is solely at the discretion
of the Immigration officer.
Additional Information:-
· Upon entry into the
Kingdom, applicant or his or her appointed representatives must apply for a work
permit at the Office of Foreign Workers Administration, Department of Employment,
Ministry of Labour in which the applicant will be obligated to pay income tax accordingly.
If the applicant’s associated company is located in the provinces, the applicant
must apply at the Employment Office of that province.
· Applicant’s family
members (i.e. spouse, parents and children who are unmarried and under 20 years
old) are eligible to apply for a Non-immigrant Visa (category “O”) and will be allowed
to stay for a period of 90 days but no longer than 1 year. The documents required
are following:
- Proof of relationship
with applicant such as marriage certificate or birth certificate.
- A copy of applicant’s
passport and a copy of a valid Thai visa or valid work permit.
